The Christian Era in Rome began with Constantine when he professed his Christianity and legalized the religion in the Roman empire. It continued with his son Constantine II and though Christianity in the Roman Empire did not end with Constantius III his reign is what ends the so-called Christian Era when these coins are from. These coins have not been cleaned in an effort to maintain their authenticity and preserve their features from when they were dug up in Italy at archaeological digs of Roman ruins.
